Weight Loss Supplements: A Few Things You Ought to Consider

So many companies brag that their weight loss supplements are the best on the market. Incredible claims of losing 30 pounds a month or supplements that ‘dissolve’ fat are everywhere. The thing this is though, taking weight loss supplements or diet pills on their own is never going to be enough to hit your targets unless your weight reduction targets are pretty low. Supressing your appetite and going hungry will only get you so far.

Making a decision on the kind of supplement you’re going to take should be based at least in part around the kind of workout you’re going to be doing side by side with your weight loss supplements. There are of course many other factors you ought to consider if you want weight loss success in the shortest possible time.

Talk to a Doctor about weight loss supplements first.

Before taking weight loss tablets it is always a really good idea to talk to a doctor. A doctor’s can offer professional advice on which pills are most suitable for you, help evaluate your current diet and even offer advice on exercise and working out regimes.

Although for many talking to a doctor about your weight is slightly uncomfortable try not to worry and just remember that your doctor is there to help and advise you.

    Fat Burners.

These diet pills have become huge favourites because they apparently trigger the parts of the body that need to eliminate fat. Fat burners are weight loss supplements and diet pills which contain variations of herbal ingredients such as Chitosan, Ephedra and Pyruvate. It is claimed that all of these stimulate your metabolic rate, increase your energy and/or suppress your appetite.

Currently there is no conclusive proof that these fat burning tablets can achieve the benefits they say they can but many people have reported huge weight losses taking them. Also no-one knows the longer term effects of fat burners and how they interact with other supplements or general medication.

    Prescription Diet Pills.

The best diet pills you can take are those prescribed by your doctor. Most prescription diet pills are classified as appetite suppressants which increase a number of chemicals in the brain which can lead to decreases in your appetite.

A popular supplement is phentermine which should always be taken along with a comprehensive weight-loss programme that must include proper exercise and a healthy diet. Other prescription diet pills can stop your body from absorbing large percentages of fat.

    Carb Blockers.

Carb blockers are known to produce chemical changes within the body. These changes stop the body from absorbing the carbohydrates in your diet. This helps stop those carbs from being converted to fat by the body.

The active ingredient of these diet supplements is usually a substance called phaselous vulgaris. Phaselous vulgaris is derived from the white kidney bean and there are currently no long term studies backing up the claim that it is an effective weight loss treatment.

    In Summary…

For most people trying to lose weight without the aid of supplements is not usually as successful or lost as quickly. If you follow your exercise routine and have a healthy diet you can easily benefit from the inclusion of weight loss supplements.

Finding a weight loss supplement that can help burn off that fat easily whilst simultaneously helping to improve your energy levels is fairly straightforward these days, however we really would recommend speaking to a doctor before you start any course of supplements.

Important Considerations for Buying Weight Loss Supplements on the Internet

Anybody buying weight loss supplements on the internet may have cause for concern. Firstly, there is a good chance you may not even receive them! You could be dealing with shady characters in a foreign country or the package could be seized by Customs at the point of entry into the UK. Either way, you have lost your money.

Let’s say you actually receive them, now your worry is – what’s in them? Weight loss supplements sent from foreign countries are more often produced under non-hygienic conditions and have no license or product code. They are not subjected to the stringent tests and standards required in the UK.

      Dangers of weight loss supplements.

Well you only need to read the aforementioned to be aware of the dangers of self-assessment and trusting to the quality of the product.

Without doubt, the most important factor is to undergo professional medical assessment by way of a consultation before entering upon any course of drug therapy.

Never try to make you own decisions about taking Weight Loss Supplements bought on the internet, see a qualified doctor and be safe. Three Great Weight Loss Tips for the Holiday Season

It’s that time again, the end of year pig out. Question is, can you fend off the food to ensure you don’t pile on the pounds? There is a ray of hope though; studies have found that most people overestimate how much weight they’ve put on over the holiday season, with less than 10% of people putting on 5 pounds or more.

Unfortunately for a lot of people any weight put on over the holiday season is never lost and gradually over time more and more weight is put on until BOOM! – Obesity. We’ve put together a bunch of reasonable weight loss tips that should help you keep off the pounds this Christmas.

      1) Keep yourself active.

Over the holidays people tend to slow down, it’s a good idea to keep to your usual routine. I realise it can be difficult to stick to any usual weight loss & exercise routine during November / December as it can be an erratic time of year. You should try to ensure you are not sacrificing gym visits and other exercise classes. Fortunately, additional holiday activities such as decorating & shopping can help but it’s usually no substitute for the gym.

        2) Don’t get too hungry.

So you go to a Christmas party and you’re overloaded with snacks galore. If you’re not eating properly during the day you’re going to end up stuffing yourself. Make sure you’re starting each day with a solid, protein based breakfast. This will help keep you full and away from too much holiday snacking. If you have to snack try snacking on veggies instead of high fat pastries.

I’m not saying don’t enjoy yourself but if you want to keep that holiday weight off it’s a good idea to keep your hunger under control with low fat, low sugar foods. I realise that sometimes it can be difficult when all that’s on offer are crisps, sausage rolls and cakes but if you want to keep that weight off, you know what you need to do.

        3) Keep away from the food.

Another weight loss tip is to just stay away from all the holiday junk food, all those treats and appetisers piled high on the buffet table. Holiday junk food is everywhere and it might be easier to stay away from it all together. This is of course much easier said than done. The smell of those pastries floating through the party air, tugging at your senses can feel torturous, but if you can’t trust yourself once you start snacking this may well be the best option for you.

You certainly don’t want to end up in the nightmare of overindulgence. Alternatively you could try the concerted effort to control your intake. Try eating what you like but in much smaller portions than you’d like. Then you can have a little more of what you like 20 to 30 minutes later, all guilt free.

        Summary…

Gaining weight is a big concern for a lot of people, not just through the holiday season but all year round. These three weight loss tips will hopefully help you enjoy your holidays without the spectre of obesity looming in the coming New Year. Happy Holidays!

Is Organic Food Better for Weight Loss?

There are numerous arguments over whether organic produce is better than forced grown produce and more specifically whether is is better for weight loss. Organic food is produced under strict standards designed to limit chemical and pesticide enhancement. It is indeed what our forefathers would have been used to.

For example, during World War II people were growing their own vegetables and it is generally accepted that our level of health was better then, than nowadays. Surprising isn’t it? Considering food was rationed, but that brought about more people growing their own.

In the 1980s the Government findings from allergy tests carried out found that many patients were sensitive to certain foods and suffered from pesticide, herbicide and fungicide exposure and the resulting metabolic effects.

So is there any weight loss benefit from following an organic diet? It has been found that non organic crops are usually treated with pesticides (organophosphates containing neurotoxins) which can cause damage to the human body.

There are other studies that conclude that no benefit is gained by organic produce over non-organic. Yet the Prince of Wales cannot see why people do not generally see why organic is not only better for our health, but better for the environment also.

Alarming Weight Loss Statistics: UK Population Increasingly Obese

It is predicted using Weight Loss Statistics that ½ the UK population will be clinically obese within 20 years. Around 60% of adults and 20% of school children in the EU are overweight or obese. This represents a massive increase in the last decade and it is getting worse.

Being overweight or obese is having an excess ratio of body fat to body mass, commonly referred by BMI calculated (body mass index). A BMI of 25 is considered as healthy, whilst 25-30 is overweight and above 30 is classified as clinically obese.

Research in the USA has shown that around 40% of cancers are attributed to obesity, largely the result of excesses of processed foods, sugar being a prime culprit.

Obesity brings on ageing and abdominal obesity (referred to as “central obesity”) and is a precursor to heart failure, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, stroke and sleep problems etc.,

Reducing your weight is never easy, most weight loss diets fail through lack of determination and poor self-management. An organised approach to weight loss is needed, one based on motivation, support and the correct balance of foods.

Over-eating is the prime aggressor of any weight loss programme and becoming overweight is caused by a conflicting situation of pleasure gained by eating more than necessary and only consuming what is required for energy on a daily basis.

Regardless of however forceful commercial advertising implies belief in its method, the only way weight loss can be effective is by habit change to a reduction of food intake.
